Problématique générale
J’explore l’écologie alimentaire des ongulés actuels et fossiles, l’impact des facteurs environnementaux sur celle-ci ainsi que l’apport de leur comportement alimentaire comme bioindicateur des (paléo)environnements.
Ateliers d’études
Les analyses texturales de micro-usure dentaire (DMTA)constituent ma principale approche.
L’un de mes axes de recherche est la meilleure caractérisation du contexte paléoenvironnemental régional Européen du Pléistocène ancien, période de dispersion du genre Homo en Europe.
En Nouvelle-Calédonie, j’étudie l’impact destructeur de populations de cervidés actuels sur les habitats naturels. La DMTA est proposée comme outil de suivi. J’ai constitué une base de données de référence sans équivalent au monde.
Au Paléolithique Moyen et au Tardiglaciaire, Je m’intéresse aux variations de comportement alimentaire des cervidés pour faire le lien entre les changements culturels dans les sociétés humaines et les oscillations climatiques.
Terrain principal
La Nouvelle-Calédonie constitue mon principal terrain d’investigation. Son contexte insulaire donc contraint en fait un modèle actuel idéal pour aborder un certain nombre de questionnements en archéologie et paléontologie.
