Problématique générale
L’objet principal de ma recherche est de comprendre les mécanismes développementaux et évolutifs à l’origine de la morphologie du corps des vertébrés, en particulier les primates.
Ateliers d’étude
Pour cela, j’utilise des outils quantitatifs variés et des statistiques multivariées afin d’explorer la diversité morphologique actuelle et fossile.
J’étudie actuellement la variabilité morphologique, l’intégration et l’évolvabilité de l’oreille chez les vertébrés actuels et fossiles, dans le cadre du projet FWF « Evolvabilité de l’oreille interne et moyenne chez les oiseaux et les mammifères ».
Je travaille également sur des aspects morpho-fonctionnels, ontogénétiques, phylogénétiques du labyrinthe osseux des primates et son intégration.
Terrain principal
Je participe à des fouilles paléontologiques de dépôts pléistocènes au nord de la Grèce (avec Dimitri S. Kostopoulos et Gildas Merceron) et de dépôts éocènes en Birmanie (avec Jean-Jacques Jaeger).
