Main research question
The objectives of my PhD is to assess and compare faunal responses to environmental changes in the Mega-lake Chad basin (north Chad) and the Omo valley (South Ethiopia) during the Mio-Plio-Pleistocene periods.
Topics of study
I focus more specifically on the study of mammals by conducting ecomorphological analyses of craniodental and postcranial remains, relying on both original and established relationships between morphological variations and environmental changes. These relationships, based on extant specimens, will then enable the inference of environmental variables from fossil specimens. This research will contribute to a deeper understanding of faunal and environmental changes during the early history of human evolution.
