Collections: Fossil vertebrates
The collection of fossil vertebrates, enriched through the research developed by various teams since the 1960s (Chair of Paleontology and Laboratory Geobiology, Biochronology and Human Paleontology) include thousands of vertebrate remains, mostly mammals and “reptiles” from the regional sites of New Aquitaine.
This collection is a major research tool and provide references for the research works of the team. It includes many types and figured specimens, referenced within the Tyfipal database.
The acquisition and management of this collection was largely funded by the University of Poitiers. They are currently rejuvenated with the support of the CNRS (INEE).
