DAVER Guillaume

Assistant professor

Main research question

My research aims at studying primate locomotion (notably apes and humans) in order to understand the relationships between primate behavior and their ecosystem, and the role of such an interaction in the course of human evolution.

Topics of study

To that purpose, I conduct an integrative research that aims at:

  • developing fieldworks,
  • better characterizing the form- function relationships between postcranial bones morphology and their potential functions in living primates (through 3D methodologies),
  • identifying of the osteological correlates of locomotion and manipulation from fossil primate bones.

Fieldworks

In this framework, I co-supervise field excavations in the Neogene deposits of the Moldavian platform in Romania together with Dr. Bogdan G. Răţoi (Universitatea “Alexandru Ioan Cuza”, Iaşi, Romania).
