BENAMMI Mouloud
Research Engineer CNRS
Main mission
I ensure the implementation and the proper functioning of our palaeomagnetic lab. I process research requests from researchers in our unit as well as other researchers from third-party institutions (in form of collaborations).
Activities
I assure the technical and financial feasibility, the implementation of the experimental protocol, the realization of the field sampling, the laboratory analysis and the results interpretation.
I make many field works abroad as a geologist paleontologist and paleomagnetist (Morocco, Libya, Algeria, Madagascar, Cameroon, Chad, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico and Chile).
Contribution to research
Magnetostratigraphy is a tool for dating and temporal correlation between sites. Its plays a central role in the research carried out within our team. I am also a paleontologist specialist in Cenozoic rodents.
Other responsibilities
Since 2012, I pilot an international cooperation project with the Ibn Tofail University, Kenitra (Guercif and Ait Kandoula Basin, Morocco) as part of the study of continental Neogene formations. I also piloting another project since 2013 in Dakhla region Western Sahara.
