A new postdoctoral researcher at Palevoprim

In the framework of this postdoc, Axelle Gardin will have the following objectives:

• Carry out and valorise the analysis of vertebrates from aquatic environments of the Neogene sites of Chad and the Plio-Pleistocene of the Shungura Formation in Ethiopia, for the purpose of palaeoenvironmental reconstructions. These data are provided by the Mission Paléoanthropologique Franco-Tchadienne and the Omo Group Research Expedition.
• To proceed with the establishment of modern reference databases for the interpretation of skeletal growth marks (actinopterygians) and stable oxygen isotopes(crocodilians) to characterize seasonal contrasts and the degree of aridity recorded by ectothermic vertebrates in aquatic environments.

This recruitment is carried out within the framework of the New Aquitaine Region AH-HEM project (L’Afrique et le genre Homo, Histoire Evolutive et Migrations).
