January 20 2025 – 16h15: international seminar Palevoprim n° 61
Speaker
Maëva Orliac
CNRS Research Director, University of Montpellier
ANR ANR ENLIVEN coordinator (2022-2026) in partnership with Anaïs Boura (CR2P, Paris), Gilles Escarguel (LEHNA, Lyon) and Cécile Blondel (PALEVOPRIM, Poitiers).
ANR ENLIVEN
Maëva Orliac will present ANR ENLIVEN and the first results.
Topic
Dynamics of the diversity of European endemic mammals in the context of environmental change during the Eocene/Oligocene transition
The Eocene-Oligocene transition (~34 Ma) is a period of global environmental changes particularly marked in Western Europe which coincides with a spectacular faunal renewal called the Grande Coupure. It is in this context that the ANR ENLIVEN aims to dissect the process of biological extinction by studying the dynamics of the biodiversity of endemic mammals and their response to changes in their environment based on fossiliferous localities of Phosphatières du Quercy.
After a general introduction to the project by Maëva Orliac, the first results on the dynamics of mammalian biodiversity will be presented by Romain Weppe (post-doctoral student, ISEM, Montpellier), analyzes of the dental micro-texture of artiodactyls by Cécile Blondel and the preliminary identification of plant remains by Anaïs Boura.
Place
Room 410, 3rd floor, North wing, Build. B35, university of Poitiers.
