Collections: Molds and casts
Description
Our lab curates a casting collection including a large diversity of molds for invetertebrates and vertebrates. It includes several thousands of pieces in plaster, silicone, or gelatine. It represents several decades of work in our workshop and more than 40 tons of material.
Use
The molds curated by our lab serve to produce replicas of fossils for research, exchange and knowledge diffusion. In addition, this collection has a strong interest to document and preserve the paleontological heritage. It documents the history of molding techniques through time, and is therefore a witness of the history of techniques.
Funding
These molds were mostly made with PALEVOPRIM fundings.
